Sorry juliekay what or who is an AM it sounds a good news if only I could understand what is been discussed in this blog. Always best asking if not getting through with all respect it has often needed a little more obvious hints for me, late changing now though.

Is there a way of alerting you all at BLF to research we find that helps - we regularly share on the blog and wonder if you see it - an odd time you may find out something you may not know -- eg today - on a COPD site..."Many COPD patients also have congestive heart failure or ischemic heart disease, two conditions where beta blocker therapy improves survival, but it has consistently been underutilized. The fear physicians have of instituting beta blockers in COPD is mostly secondary to the theoretical concern about the effects of beta blockers on lung function and it is even more pronounced during acute exacerbations of COPD. By now, multiple reviews have shown the cardioselective beta blockers are safe in COPD, but they continue to be withheld or discontinued, especially in the setting of acute exacerbations." looks like perhaps an important piece of news that may help you at BLF to help many with COPD through info to us/ campaigns on provision?

and I got a reply (see below) on the blog re beta blockers that many will not see - hidden away in so many blogs is such useful info for you and us ... more food for your thought...

Hi - my husband has PF and congestive heart failure - he needs diuretics but can't take them with beta blockers because the BBs lower blood pressure. However, there is a drug called Ivabradine which will slow his heart (which races due to the CHF ) and that doesn't lower blood pressure. It has made a big difference to his treatment. It's been around a while but no-one seem to have heard of it (except the cardiologist who put him on it!).I don't think it is particularly expensive.
