My existing Arriva policy people are great., after being diagnosed in March I gave them a ring and told them COPD & Bronchiectasis and they covered me for only a little bit more than I was paying before (Annual, Worldwide) I was very surprised. They may be worth a try.

My wife uses Good to Go who cover just about every health condition going. Her policy also covers her if I am taken ill, which most policies don't. (She has two weeks abroad while I am just abandoned at home). Bobby x

Good morning Ice2010,

The BLF website has a list of travel insurance companies, see the link:-

blf.org.uk/Page/Travel-insu...

These are companies who will insure someone with a pre existing condition but the BLF doesn't endorse any particular company.

If you need any further advice on traveling, oxygen or airline policies, give us a call and we can post out our travel pack.

Regards,

Biddy

Hi, I rang round yesterday. MIA is cheapest for Europe as they take into account EHIC card. Freedom insured my husband for Dubai at half the price others quoted, some insurers on the list declined to insure him. The holiday was booked before he was diagnosed with Emphysema & pulmonary fibrosis. All the companies I rang were on BLF list, except MIA which I was given by Macmillan, they insured me for a trip to Spain last year mid way through cancer treatment. Hope this helps. Lesley

Hi we took out a worldwide policy at Christmas for two weeks and it cost £200 through Holiday Extras, it covered my husband for asbestosis and COPD and my asthma. Good luck

I have the same problem in taking out a good travel policy for Europe as I wish to insure and have bronchiectasis and have been in hospital this year twice (my policy with Insure and Go did not pay up despite the fact I had declared it - so do avoid them! Has anybody actually claimed on a travel policy, rather than just taken one out, and if so what was their experience? Better than mine I hope.
